The Worcestershire Soldier Gallery on the 1st floor of Worcester City Art Gallery & Museum, is now permanently closed. The Gallery told the stories of the men of the Worcestershire Regiments from 1694 to the present day.
If you missed the display or would like to see it again, take a look at our virtual tour:
The Worcestershire Soldier Gallery in Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum was accessible to the public from 2003, when it was officially opened by Her Royal Highness, Princess Anne, Colonel in Chief of the Worcestershire And Sherwood Foresters Regiment.
The display closed to the public on the 31st August 2025, after 22 years. All objects were subsequently deinstalled, packed, and placed into storage.
With the support of The National Lottery Heritage Fund, we are currently developing a new gallery at the Commandery, Worcester in partnership with Worcester City Council and the Worcestershire Yeomanry Museum.
The new gallery will retell the stories of the Worcestershire Regiments in imaginative and engaging ways to bring them to life for new audiences. Read more about the Commandery Move here and on the project’s page on Museums Worcestershire’s website.
